Happy to report that I'm officially a failure! Well, that's the theme of Puerto del Sol's Fall 2021 issue. My poem "He Wanted to Talk to Birds" was chosen as part of the themed section. The last lines read "but he could only come so far / limited as he was." I've admired the work in this journal for years and it's quite a treat to be chosen for it. Puerto leans towards the offbeat--"weirding it up since 1960" is their slogan. I just finished reading Jessica Fordham Kidd's "Going Blue," about a stand-up comedian followed home by little Dombey-like creatures. My poem is not in their online content yet but there's a lot of great stuff there that's worth checking out. @jessicafkidd @puertomag
